Constant in my work is the appearance of a horizon. Realizing this, I try to assign each horizon its invisible city. Literary work by Italo Calvino, ¨The invisible cities¨ are fantastic, unreal, vague, impossible, indeterminate, beautiful, lyrical ... Thanks to Italo Calvino and my dear master Jaime Buhigas who show me it. After reading this wonderful book, my great friend and painter Amalia Rubí wrote about an imaginary city formed by her name and mine, called ¨Carmalia¨. She gave me a city! ¨Carmalia¨ It is in an undefined place. From afar it floods us with a great blaze of color. As thousands and thousands of silk cocoons approach us, they stimulate our senses. Operators dye these colors and later, they are grouped according to their tones. Huge blocks give off iridescence white, blue and orange in all their ranges. The traveler enters the city of Carmalia .... Discover that houses, monuments and schools are built with magical envelopes and shimmering pigments. In the highest place, butterflies pull the thread from the cones, weaving air balloons and huge scarves. I stayed and returned hundreds of times to that place. I flew over various places in multicolored balloons. Later I made fabrics of all colors to warm and clothe anyone who ever feels fear, cold or loneliness. Amalia Rubí February 3, 2004 Love you Amalia

After my career as a Graphic Designer, I approached painting as a more personal medium; portraits, familiar scenes and inhabited landscapes allowed me a new language. Currently I direct my interest towards Contemporary Art, its study and how to nurture my work with its knowledge. I go out towards the objects that surround us. They are alive and they are testimony of vital moments that belong to the collective of my generation. I enjoy the analysis and definition process prior to production. Then I immerse myself in a meeting place with my hands, papers, paints, markers…; work on the ground, paste, polish, rise to the vertical, doubt and experiment. Styles, techniques and materials crystallize in projects as heterodox as my search, with the precise objective of exploring my own discourse through the work process.
