About The Artwork

About the A5 drawing. Personally speaking, I have liked making them, I like looking at them, I liked learning a little extra anatomy for each one, I am thinking out loud during their creation, they are neither light nor dark but perpetual in the life & moment(um), each specimen is doing 'something'. They are far from correct anatomy but part of the false ideas we have about the workings of our own bodies. They began during the lockdown experience 2020 - drawing from a small plant or organ working away not quite knowing their part holistically. These are studies that become part of muscle memory to find and flow through a flat space, to find a new composition I couldn't invent purposefully, a bit closer to (a type of) nature found through accident & intension.

Royal Scottish Academy Edinburgh museum exhibition: 'ANDIAMO!' Resistency at DRAWInternational, France (stipened award). Museum exhibition at La Specola, anatomy & taxidermy museum, Florence. Group exhibitions in London 2023. Shortlisted for Bienalsur.org, very large proposal for my "sketchbook murals", from making murals through South America (& now London) travelling on land only from 2015 to 2017, creating 1 to 4 murals in Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, PerĂº, Bolivia and Argentina. Learning Spanish.. drawing & learning so more, of course! I grew up in New Mexico & England - generally nomadic, always comfortable to move on, I seek out lively discussion, I have learned to make work in transit (research, notes, compositions), with a thirst for literature, to read, to watch, to look; always propositional, always making mistakes.
