About The Artwork
This large gilded wall sculpture is part of my new collection inspired by the wood grain, an organic texture enhanced by the refinement of the patinated silver finish. The relief is molded with a cellulose paste on a wooden support. Once dry, the modeling is resin impregnated and completely covered with 1000/1000 genuine silver leaf. The patina look is obtained by oxidizing the leaf in chemicals. It gives it warm tones and turns it into golden shades. Each patina has a different look, depends on the oxidation, this gives uniqueness and warmth to each work. A final satin varnish protects the surface of the bas-relief and preserves it from further oxidation. My work is deeply influenced by nature, mostly wavy, abstract forms based on what I see on wood, bark, vegetables, animal or a rock formation. I focus on a particular organic texture and I bring it in the circumscripted space of an artwork. My wall reliefs with their three-dimensionality, can be observed from multiple angles and different kinds of lighting will have different impacts on the artwork. The physical textures create patterns of variation that stimulate the sense of sight and touch. I like to create patina on metal finishes since the oxydation is always unpredictable, different and unique. Through my website I collaborate with collectors, art consultants and interior designers, creating bespoke pieces of art custom designed for each project.
