Up the Duff. ( 5 pieces in the series.) Ideas for these pieces come from architecture - everything from Pigeon Cots to Buddhist Temples. The sort of thing we probably dont see in our everyday lives. Looking through the lens of our everyday Junk Culture of concrete blocks, hamburgers and car parks to see evidence of other cultures only dimly perceived and often misunderstood. The materials I have used reflect this idea : Celotex insulation and raw pigment. that is a sort of dialogue between the mass produced and the hand-made. Commissions for smaller versions can be commissioned .

My practice spans across Sculpture Installations Land Art and drawing and painting. 3D work can be permanent or temporary using a broad variety of materials, from indoor materials such as recycled mobile phones, human hair, Celotex and paperback books to more permanent materials such as stone , wood , cast or powder-coated aluminium or concrete. Currently in Lockdown I am making new small pieces of sculpture as par of an ongoing series called Up the Duff. which may refer o vernacular architecture and to my travels in Turkey Lebanon Syria Greece and Morocco. I often rework familiar domestic objects and architectural features : a doormat, a telephone, suitcases, or a corridor . I have also made a series of floating floors which float in a room full of water. I also make drawings and paintings which are normally coloured and involve experimenting with different media. Some are proposals for sculpture, and others are drawings or paintings in their own right. Outdoor commissions include work made for parks, woods gardens museums etc. They are site responsive and may include a feature which is of use to animals and birds, such as to provide a a source of water.
