Whilst my primary art form is painting, I have long yearned to leave the flat plane and create works in the round. Covid lockdowns have been a very creatively challenging and exciting period for me as I ventured into the world of 3D and welded metal. I have always been interested in the human form and function. I have been a follower of Dr. Gunther Von Hagens’ anatomy lectures and his “Plastinated” human cadavers for many years. I have sought to use that interest to create sculptural works that describe human “space”. The Being suggests an androgynous human form using only space and outline. It is informed as much by what is not there as by what is. It reflects the social shift that is occurring where individuals have the ability to describe themselves, not by the sexual organs that they were born with but by their emotional and psychological makeup.

Using gravity as her paint brush, Reddin produces large abstract artworks that suggest both geological forms and the intricate structures of nature. As engaging up close as they are when viewed from a distance, they ask viewers to reflect on the fragility of life and the fine balance required to preserve an irreplaceable natural world. Jenny's sculptural works are expressions of her love of drawing with metal. Her earlier works focus of describing the human form in its simplest iteration but recently she has simplified further to build cellular structures.
