About The Artwork
The wooden figure is from Driftwood, the stone base from an old house. Here I am. Pan-Hellenic male arrogance taken to the extreme. For several years during my time living in Greece I occupied a house above the nudist beach at Myrtiotissa. Probably one of the most beautiful beaches on Corfu, and not just for its Summer visitors.

Paul Wood is an English Sculptor now back on the Greek island of Corfu after several years working as Stonemason in Germany. He makes hand carved sculptures in wood and stone, prefering to work with locally found materials. Often these materials are from recycled sources. His work is mainly figurative, and explores the sensual nature of both the material and the human body.
