In Kommeno, on the east coast of Corfu stands the largest, most beautiful Magnolia tree I have ever seen. One winter this tree required some serious pruning for its own health. This figure is one piece from this gorgeous but extremely hard wood. The two colours are completely natural.

Paul Wood is an English Sculptor now back on the Greek island of Corfu after several years working as Stonemason in Germany. He makes hand carved sculptures in wood and stone, prefering to work with locally found materials. Often these materials are from recycled sources. His work is mainly figurative, and explores the sensual nature of both the material and the human body.
