Icarus Unchained Sculpture

One of a new set of small sculptures that take the paintings onto the floor. They are a playful extensions of other work and are inspired as much out of curiosity as anything. They try to answer the question 'what happens if...?". Specifically this piece is inspired by Breughels painting of Icarus along side Audens poem 'Musee des Beaux Arts'. In the painting Icarus is famously tucked away in the bottom right corner. A fact which has always seemed to me to raise lots of questions that are still relevant about the mechanics of stories as well as more formal issues of placement.
