About The Artwork
A piece of wood that I have kept for a long time, and which has changed during its working several times. The elm tree fell during the great storm of 1987 in southern England. The stone comes from an old house demolished in England to make way for an extremely ugly block of flats.

Paul Wood is an English Sculptor now back on the Greek island of Corfu after several years working as Stonemason in Germany. He makes hand carved sculptures in wood and stone, prefering to work with locally found materials. Often these materials are from recycled sources. His work is mainly figurative, and explores the sensual nature of both the material and the human body.
