About The Artwork
Desert Winds was started at the Marble/marble carving symposium in the Summer of 2016 near the quarry. It started out a 1600 pound block and weighs around 1300 pounds finished. The idea for this sculpture is an abstracted bone structure with elements of a wind-blown sand dune from the desert. I added lines to create that movement in the sculpture. Dimensions are of sculpture only, it is currently resting on a 14"H x 14"D x 20"W cement base.
