Desert Star Sculpture

Texture, shape, monochrome, minimal, sculptural, mark making. Inspired by boulders, flowers, succulents, sea anemones. This dimensional wall sculpture is composed of a collection of abstract nature-inspired forms stacked together, that creates shadow-play upon the wall. A line based surface pattern, in contrasting dark green black pigment, is hand-carved into the warm creamy white wax surface. The minimalist artwork is composed of a sturdy substrate made of reclaimed wood and is ready to hang as-is. Encaustic art involves fusing pigment and heated beeswax and damar resin on the surface of the substrate. The results are a soft, barely opaque, molten surface full of organic nuance and character that reflects the light. One of a kind. Signed and dated on the back.
