About The Artwork
The concept for Contortion started during end of 2002. The design of the piece had a few requirements, first was a human figure, sitting and with no base. I borrowed the head design from Circumfusion. The after some doodling, and not satisfied with the legs in front of the head, I wrapped the legs backwards. The rest is history. Contortion has an interesting story behind it. It started as a white piece which was common for me at the time. One of my good clients loved the piece and wanted it for their new home in Paso Robles. The catch was that it would need to be painted purple! Reluctantly I agreed and since then have never turned back regarding color. Now Contortion sits on a hilltop with an unbelievable view. Shaded by green trees year-round.
