"BIRDS" The “Birds” (Uccelli) is a central theme. As in many artworks, the birds and the notion of flight represent an intuitive and natural dynamic dimension of movement. Therefore "Birds" collection is not concentrated on the physical attributes of the bird, but instead on its movement. The wings are idealized and the feathers are represented by colors, the head and beak are reduced more and more to a slender dynamic concept. Each sculpture prompts refinements in the next: the shape becomes more attenuated, taller or longer, absorbing the head and neck in an abstract body. The viewer is free to interpret the inspiration that he or she feels, focusing on the different and, may be contradictory, features (colors, shapes, positions) of these works.
