About The Artwork
A small female Torso carved fom my favourite stone, Ancaster Weatherbed, to be found in Lincolnshire, England. This stone contains amazing shells, and has a beautiful rich golden colour. It lends itself ideally, in my veiw, to voluptuous rounded forms. This piece was recently sold in the Netherlands.

Paul Wood is an English Sculptor now back on the Greek island of Corfu after several years working as Stonemason in Germany. He makes hand carved sculptures in wood and stone, prefering to work with locally found materials. Often these materials are from recycled sources. His work is mainly figurative, and explores the sensual nature of both the material and the human body.
