This is a very unique coloration of Utah Picasso Marble, a stone generally much darker in appearance. Found only in Utah, Picasso Marble was first discovered by explorer and miner David Penney as he was prospecting near Beaver, UT, and came across a volcanic outcropping of mottled marble exposed by erosion. Upon cutting and polishing the stone, the colors and veins illuminated themselves in a striking manner.
