About The Artwork
This is Variation #4 of an original painting on canvas entitled "In the Company of the Gods." This particular piece is a large, spectacular, museum grade giclee print on canvas that comes pre-stretched over a heavy duty 2 inch stretcher bar ready to hang. My process with this work involves a series of complex digital manipulations of high resolution photographs of an original painting that results in variations on its theme and creates visual effects of depth and texture that mimic the original work on canvas. The theme of "In the Company of the Gods" is an ongoing series in different media reflecting my interest in classical and indigenous mythologies and cosmologies. The series is painted in tones reminiscent of the desert southwest of the United States which is an important spiritual and artistic hub for me.
