Embossment1 1 - Limited Edition of 1 Print

After producing some paintings that followed the theme of balance and geometry I wanted to explore how else I could produce the same type of image in the most restrained way I could; I wanted to restrict the amount of mediums put on the paper so I went as far as to put nothing down. I hand cut my composition out of thick card to allow the paper to rise quite high when I embossed it. I hand pushed the paper through the stencil with a round point. I chose to do this on beautiful quality, fairly heavyweight off-white cotton Somerset printmaking paper (apologies, I cannot rememberer the gsm) as the velvety, peachy texture of the paper really compliments the softness and roundness of the shapes. I had envisiged this piece for a while, seeing the shapes and milky whiteness of the page was, quite geekily, an exciting prospect; meaning I am very proud of this piece. The sheet will be shipped, in a hard cardboard tube and packaged with great attention and care.
