About The Artwork

This work is inspired by a painting I created called New Village. The painting was derived from ancient folk traditions and cultural overlaps. The Holi print seen here was created with master printmaker Amanda Verbeck of Pele Prints in St. Louis, MO. This body of work has been displayed at Aqua Miami and Art on Paper at Pier 36 in NYC. Limited edition of 10. I hand collaged the Japanese kozo paper then hand stained each sheet with powdered pigment and interference dyes. The result is primitive and slightly iridescent. Largely inspired by the book Tantra Song that depicts a series of abstractions based on meditations. Each print of the series is unique from the other by the virtue of collage and staining process. Fuchsia with deep indigo, small pops of florescent orange and seafoam green. Would look amazing in a float frame. Measures 44"x44".
