Louise graduated in 2019 from the University of Edinburgh after 4 years of specialising in painting. Now based at a art studio in Manchester her work mainly encompasses bright colours and fabrics. Alongside her printmaking, she creates work through collage, combining paint and textiles. She enjoys bringing attention to the wooden stretcher through the use of fabric as a canvas, allowing her paintings to embed different dimensions. She wants the strong pigmented colours in her work to create aesthetic compositions, paying close attention to how each work sits alongside the next. The bold colours used in her materials and paint aim to create paintings that unite the imaginary and the celebratory.
