These images were taken so that the audience is invited to embody the role of the subject, viewing the world through her eyes, connecting with the emotion and sorrow. The hair of the subject frames the sides of her face creating a shield that keeps the outside world at bay. If she dares to look beyond her hair a curse will be placed upon her. There is ice surrounding the subject in casing her within the misery that she feels. The constant pain attacking her body freezes it so much she becomes numb and motionless, staring into space. She dreams of the flowers that once grew so freely, their beauty enticing nature to rejoice. This work was influenced by Alfred Lord Tennyson’s poem The Lady of Shallot 1833

United Kingdom
Visual Artist working within photography, mixed media, video, illustrative techniques and installations. Images are like dark extracts of the mind with poetic levels, which subtly affix, and intrigue. Blending figure and forms - texture - nature, amalgamated with spontaneous exploration of being. I like to work both in the studio and on location. My work is art based but I am also open to commercial based projects.
