This image was inspired during a personal project capturing people being drowned in plastic to bring awareness of plastic pollution. After taking many shots showing the suffering and pain of what our oceanic creatures are experiencing, I wanted to capture a moment of post-trauma transcendence. An image that inspires and provides hope for the viewer. A beautiful black man who has risen above the pollution and pain, (including racism), on this planet and is now connected to something much larger than self. A Sage of our future.

I've been a professional photographer for over 20 years. After moving to a home with a 10 foot deep pool that needed to be renovated, I had a flash of inspiration that I'd be an underwater photographer. It's been 9 years since I began this journey of capturing people in the "underwater world" which has also connected me deeper then ever to water, our oceans and my passion for protecting our Mother Earth, sea and land animals and bringing awareness to plastic pollution. For the past 2 years, I've been teaming up other artists including musicians, dancers, models, fashion designers in hopes that we create a ripple effect to create, educate, inspire, protect our planet.
