I was born in Freeland, Maryland in 1984. I am currently studying sculpture at Maryland Institute College of Art and plans
on graduating in the spring of 2008. I have exhibited in a number of venues including the Pratt Institute (Brooklyn, New York), The Hyattstown Mill Art Project (Hyattstown, Maryland), and in many exhibition spaces on the Maryland Institute College of Art campus (Baltimore, Maryland). I have remained strongly connected to my birthplace, in backwoods Freeland, and this has greatly influenced my work as an artist. The nature surrounding me at his home has penetrated me on a deep level and is shown in the materials I chooses (ie. wood and stone) to use and how I implements myself upon them. Tension is also a very important aspect that carries through all of my work. I push and pull my materials to the limit when warping green wood around stones to hold the stones in tension and sometimes in suspension.
