About The Artwork

A line up of different Dutch facades around a square in the city Almere was the original subject I captured with my camera. I isolated this line up and digitally I recreated the feeling of a square, surrounded by these houses. In order to add depth and richness to the composition I repeated the space in several layers behind the original, each time making it smaller. I love the abstract, baroque feeling of the result. I also added the original sky of the scene and the almost visible sun in the middle. This work is part of a commission and ongoing exhibition 'Ritme in de Polder' [Rhythm in the Polder]. It is a duo exhibition of Ger Dekkers (1929-2020) and me at Kunstlinie and Central Station in Almere (NL). Running until 9 April 2023. This is a ready to hang artwork. It is a photographic print on high quality paper mounted behind plexiglass (Diasec) in museum quality finish. The plexiglass provides remarkable depth and brilliance to the art work. For extra stability it has an aluminum Dibond backpanel. It comes with an elegant thin wooden edge frame that sets the composition just a little bit more apart from its surroundings. Large size limited edition of 5, personally signed and certified.
Note about the dimensions:
the artwork itself is 47.2 x 47.2 inches (120 x 120 cm)
Together with the frame, the outside dimensions are 48.4 x 48.4 inches (123 x 123 cm). Other dimensions available:
 Medium size: 70 x 70 cm / 27 x 27 inches (Diasec / print behind plexiglass) Small size: 45 x 45 cm / 17.7 x 17.7 inches (Diasec / print behind plexiglass or pigment print on paper)
