I am influenced by the 18th and 19th century artists of the Romantic movement and I see my work as Romantic. I am trying to convey the emotions that I felt at the time that the image was captured. I am looking to find the extraordinary in the every-day. I do not like to photoshop my images, they must portray real moments, yet at the same time there must be something that lifts them away from reality. I very rarely add or subtract anything from my images. I am a follower of Henri Cartier-Bresson, in that I am looking for a decisive moment to capture the image, in that way the event remains ephemeral and spontaneous, where the image represents the essence of the event itself. The digital image is 16"x24" but can be printed on larger sized paper if needed, it can also be framed if needed, please email for details.

Of his work Gary says; "I see my work as being in the Romantic tradition. My work has been described as cinema-graphic, otherworldly and emotionally charged. I love to take pictures, I'm interested in people, culture, society and a sense of place. I travel a lot and I am a romantic of sorts. I was once described as having a 19th Century sensibility. Maybe that is because I like nostalgia, found things and a touch of fantasy. My aim is to find magic in the everyday."
