About The Artwork
Inspired by the Kabbalists who used amulets for health and protection, I made this amulet for a synagogue in downtown New York. It features this synagogue's glass window with the Star of David design. The fish shape is purported to bring good luck and prosperity; the hamsa is an ancient talismanic method of averting the Evil Eye, or more generally, of providing a "protecting hand".
