Semaphore series: Japanese anemone Photograph

My botanical work provides many opportunities to appreciate qualities of plants which might otherwise be overlooked. It really does appear sometimes as if my models are 'striking a pose', or performing a dramatic gesture. Sometimes they look like dancers; others look like they are signalling in a style similar to a navy or railway semaphore. I am compiling series of both for a book.
