About The Artwork
Sacred Dance photograph in edition of nine prints depicts the beautiful dance of Krishna and his girlfriends called "gopis". The original is held in the collection of the Museum of Sacred Art in Belgium. The setting for the picture was chosen in a peaceful lush garden in Manipur, North East India. The photography has been inspired by the classical Manipuri dance art form and devotional Hindu culture, which arrived to Manipur in 16th Century. In role of Krishna is a wonderful artist Manju Elangbam.
