About The Artwork

This image is entitled ‘Parisien Fall’. The charm of the ever photogenic Paris, here, as is evident in one of its many striking cemeteries with their impressive memorials to the dead. Black and White is always my medium of choice for such subject matter, as I believe colour in itself can be a distraction to a story. The inquisitive child exploring the many fallen chestnuts, overseen by her classically dressed mother portrays a very human scene. I hope you as the viewer to this image recall how with the innocence of childhood, even the most simple objects are fascinating. Produced in Paris, this image was captured using a Canon G9 digital camera. ‘Parisien Fall’ is sold unframed, the size of the actual printed image of this artwork is 28.7" x 19.4” This print comes with a 2” white border on which the artists signature features on the lower right hand corner. Printed on exhibition quality Premium Matte photographic paper, signed and numbered by the artist, this artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity. Your print will be shipped rolled securely inside a shipping tube.

Photography; it's THE most fantastic medium, I adore it, and I hope this is evident in my work. Born near Winchester in the UK, I've been a resident of London for most of the past three decades. Since June 1983 - when I spent my entire first salary on my first SLR camera - photography has been an intrinsic part of both my life and of who I am. Photography it isn't just about taking great imagery, importantly, it has made me intimately aware of the world around us. As an art-form, photography creates an enormous opportunity to tell a story. Not only can I explore the present, but through montage techniques, as is evident through my exhibition 'Recovering The Past', it enables me to link the past with the present. As an artist, this gives me the opportunity to explore almost anything imaginable. Photography never ceases to excite me, I very much hope that my work does so to you too.
