About The Artwork

This image is of an 8' piece of driftwood that washed up on the shore of Staten Island after Hurricane Sandy. It resembled a beached sea creature and the surface appeared to be fossilized in many areas. Who knows where something like this has been and where it came from? I felt a deep connection to it's age and beauty, and the otherworldly quality it had - almost as if it was a living being. The next time I returned to this location it was gone, although I found what appeared to be pieces of it, shattered during the installation of a new sea wall.

Welcome to my world! You can browse the Collections for stylistic groupings or click Artworks for the entire catalog. Enjoy! I’ve been a visual artist for the majority of my life. My early work in drawing and painting informs my primary focus in photography. My images aim to reveal the multi-dimensional soul of my subjects, often through use of texture, motion, and color manipulation. My work has been exhibited at Photoville in NYC, Foley Gallery NYC, Perfect Exposure Gallery in LA, Root Brooklyn, SUNY Albany, Princeton University, Parsons in NYC, New York University in NYC, Louis Armstrong School in NYC, Soundscape in NYC, Artist’s International in NYC, The Alternative Museum in NYC, Experimental Intermedia Foundation in NYC, Arts and Culture Society of Elmsford, Soho Photo in NYC, and Warde-Nasse Gallery in NYC. Additionally my feature-length silent video was shown at Roulette in NYC as part of a collaboration with Jerome Cooper’s live performance. One of my short videos was shown by Loosen Art at Millepiani in Rome, Italy. My work has been used for album covers for the following labels: ILK Music, Mutable Music, About Time, Anima and India Navigation. My photos of musicians have been published in Cue, People, NY Times, Contemporary Keyboard, High Fidelity, and Stereo Review. It’s also been published in Mudfish Poetry - a poetry anthology, Metropolis - an urban photo collection by international photographers and on the cover of a short story collection "To the City With Love, Vol. III".
