About The Artwork
This work brings together influences of the great King Bhagyachandra who ruled in Manipur in the 18th Century and devotion to nature. The King received divine vision in a dream. He became an inspired designer and artist, while seeing to his duties as a king as well. Bhagyachandra arranged a special performing arts called "Rasa Lilas" for which he also designed the outfit as well choreography. The photograph changes the context that it does not appear as a play, but as a true manifestation of Krishna Lila taking place in natural settings, not on a theatre stage. His muse was Govinda, the playful god of love, who protects cowherd girls, who speaks of Yoga. For him Govinda embodies the charming master of all mystics. Garden of Delight scene is set near Sadu Chiru waterfall. For this purpose the site has been cleansed, it included as well as ritual worship to welcome Lord Govinda's appearance and purification rites for the ancestors's spirits residing at the site.
