About The Artwork
I took this image while on a last minute trip to Istanbul. I only had six hours to see as much as I could before I moved on to Rome. The grand mosques are illuminated by thousands of ancient chandeliers with crystal votives and I saw this ceiling as the modern day iteration, away from all of the typical tourist attractions. The luminosity of each crystal globe and the reflection of each off one another was something to be seen. It was sheer serendipity that I was able to capture this image. i printed this on Fuji Crystal paper. When viewed with low light and a direct spotlight on the art, the globes will shimmer. Hang this in your dining room and all you need is a bottle of champagne on ice to echo the effervescence!
