Presenting "Time," a captivating self-portrait that achieved the distinguished finalist status at the Creative Commons Festival in Almeria, granting it the privilege to participate in the prestigious "Invisible People" exhibition in April 2016. Step into the bustling streets of Canary Wharf during rush hour, where the cold air fills the atmosphere as people hurriedly catch the last trains before nightfall, only to rest a few hours before starting the cycle all over again. The gray asphalt and layered structures in this photograph create an immersive atmosphere, depicting the crowd in varying shades of blue, symbolizing a life lived in fast motion. In my self-portrait series titled “Time,” I delve into the relentless pace of time. It serves as a reminder to pause and embrace the present moment, wishing to temporarily freeze time in the here and now. Often, we find ourselves consumed by thoughts of the past or preoccupied with planning for the future, neglecting the beauty of the present. I explore the concept of permanence in objects juxtaposed with the constant motion of life. Through layered compositions, I aim to capture the essence of our surroundings and shed light on what we forfeit when we fail to live consciously in the present. Each photograph invites contemplation about our fast-paced lives and the importance of savoring the present before it slips away into the past. Join me on a journey to appreciate the world unfolding before us each day, for perhaps the future we envision may never materialize. Let us embrace the present and cherish the fleeting moments that make up the tapestry of life. Last copy available! Don't miss out on this unique piece

Susana López F., a visual artist from Gijón, Spain, becomes a modern day flâneur through photography. She studied Fine Arts, specializing in Painting, at Barcelona University, from where she also holds a PhD. Soon after, Susana travelled to London, New York or Paris to complete her studies and her camera travelled with her to capture her movements. Step by step, this hobby turned into her main body of work and she changed brushes for cameras. Susana’s artistic focus explores how the surface of the photograph is a modern day canvas to capture the ‘routine’, and transform it into something exceptional. "Photography is much more than a simple image. Photography is a way of feeling life, it is a way of living reality, it is a way of living the world." Currently, her mission is to catch the beauty of a city with each shot of her camera in a bid to capture the unnoticed aspects of city life that we all often are too busy to notice. "For me, photography is a different thing. I feel passionate about photography, it is an art to taste the reality, it is the pleasure of intimate moments. My aim is to stop time and discover the authenticity of our existence. Photography is a way of life." The subject of her work is taken from, and inspired by, her personal experiences in the city and her daily life. Susana communicates through her pictures the history, architecture, consumerism and even immigration patterns of a city. She seeks to reveal this with a distance that reflects an objective and striking honesty. Some years ago, she discovered the power of social media which allowed her to expand her aims and really engaged with her concept on a wider digital platform. She loves using twitter, and her personal blog diffuses her projects, making her images, views and personal experiences accessible to everyone. Susana has been participating in individual and group shows since 2000. Her work exists in gallery collections, town halls, cultural associations and in collective and solo exhibitions in Spain and abroad. She recently showed her work in SantoraSpace in Los Angeles, the Venice Biennale as part as the collateral British group, Cervantes Institute in Sofia, 1aSpace in Hong Kong, The Other Art Fair in London, PointB in Brooklyn, NY or Woman Made Gallery in Chicago.
