This lonely boxcar sits in the middle of a cotton field somewhere on US 87 in West Texas. The minimalist look of nothing but dirt, sky and an old boxcar reminded me of the famous cornfield scene in Alfred Hitchcock's movie North by Northwest. I've always loved the rhythm of rows in a plowed field, as you're driving down the highway. This boxcar was something disruptive and surreal, as though it fell from the sky, and I still wonder how it got there.
