i took this photo years ago and recently based an illustration on it as well. about a month ago i came up with the idea that i would print it out (on my inkjet), mount it on a board and drip clear acrylic based varnish on it. the drips where applied in five stages leaving a day between each stage for it to dry. i was hoping the varnish would pick up the inks and create a streaking effect and that’s exactly what happened…very cool effect.
