This is the beach down the hill from my home,Bathsheba sits on the Eastside of the island of Barbados its nature is spectacular a horseshoe shaped bay at the end of a steep hill ,it has mesmerised me since i first came to the island 25years ago.The lone figure wandering the bay absorbing the beauty of pounding atlantic waves and lined with palms and coral rock,This painting aims to capture the atmosphere and feeling of place and inner life.Inspired by Peter Doig,Edward Hopper and Gauguin.
