About The Artwork
Walking across a willow covered island on the Chimehuin River banks, I stopped short to sketch the view. The way the branches overlapped above, reaching for and hiding the skies, the effects of the lights and shadows as the sun managed to pass...this is what I had in mind when painting over an old acrylic work. Traces of it appear now and again in the confusion of the scene and are part of its history now. This deep connection with Nature filas me with joy and emotion.

My style is figurative, sometimes more realistic, others expressive and even abstractive. My compositions are made up from field sketching, which I paint afterwards in my study where colour is the main character in the show.
