This painting is a second take on my longing for mosaics and my very humble tribute to them. Church near my house is in neo-roman style and presbiterium is tiled with one of the most beautiful mosaics I've seen in Poland. Whole church is beautiful and it have been inspiring my artistic imagination since I was very young. I really love moisaics and at some point planned to go to Ravenna / Italy to study it, but eventually it was only the trip to see all the wonders there with my own eyes. Recently I was visited in the Studio by my new friend and he confirmed what I sadly know for a long time now - photos give only a fraction of beauty and impact of these works. For once gold is very hard to capture, second - size matters in these matter. It's really totally differnt feeling when you face in person painting bigger than you. Please have it in mind watching it. Painting is mixed media (oil + schlagmetal + glossy varnish) on HDF wisible between colour spots. Wooden canvas. HDF and wood are visible on the side. Surface is far from perfect (bumps, scratches , patches) , but it does not disturb the harmony of the whole. I built canvas myself and so it is not perfect either and at closer look you can see joints and nail's heads. Whole building it by myself, I see it as a additional value of my personal touch.

Repeatable, often classic topics; favorite color palette; small and big things that makes us want to live, even thou world can be such an ugly place. I want my art to make it better - even for a moment, even in a tiny way. I want it to remind myself and others that it's worth to try everyday...
