I love to pain still-lifes front-on - sometimes almost from below - to give the subjects an epic, heroic character. The characters in my still lifes are apologising to no-one. Here, I added two more bold story layers: the stark red-on-red colour scheme; and the dazzling white wi-fi router that dominates the other objects like some monolith of power. Touches of blue shadow balance the red-drenched scene just enough.
