Is 'what do you do for a living' truly a question to define someone's identity? Should it be the first question that pops up in our heads when first approaching someone we don't know yet? Out of every possible way to get to know someone our careers shouldn't necessarily be the main topic of a starter conversation. The answer sometimes is followed by a certain sense of judgment and people do tend to figure the other out according to the answer. If you are a doctor then you are wealthy, if you are a mechanic you are perhaps simple, if you are an artist you are living in the world of fairies because 'true jobs' are something else according to some. There are so many other ways to get to know someone that happen to tell way more about their personalities and form a genuine sort of connection that we all need. Yet society loves labels and reduce you to your position of employment.

Thais Palma Bottiglieri is an Italian and Portuguese contemporary visual artist. Currently lives and works in Ireland after a long life of traveling around the world with the wish of finding what she would identify as Home. Art was always her only constant. An only friend. Initially inspired by her mother's passion for decor and design, Thais started her career painting mainly interiors. Four walls that kept her safe, comforted and loved when the outside world would often create a sense of disappointment. Eventually those walls had to be broken as she was expected to explore more than a mere love for beautiful pieces of design. Today her artistic process involves the portrait of her human feelings, dreams, fears, visions, moments witnessed. Most of them perhaps relatable to others. It is autobiographical. Moments lived and still to be lived. Past, present and future.
