About The Artwork
This painting was inspired by a Balinese Holiday in which ghosts of those lost reappear and are welcomed. I transported myself via my imagination into an exotic and faraway land. Each band of pattern is at first small and distant and hidden until it gradually is revealed floats freely. The last few paintings in this series of 36" x 36" landscape vertical bands have represented islands that each have their own character and mood. It is a way of traveling within the studio.
