Untitled Painting

Done entirely in oil paint over heavyweight canvas this geometric painting focuses on the shape's relationship of balance in accordance with each other, using colour to single out the shapes that don't adhere to the constraints. I won't point them out as that would ruin the fun. I did not use stencils as I wanted the edges of the shapes to remain cloudy and more free-form. The colours is considered and muted, thinly enough applied for the texture, that's so indicative of oil paint, to show. The construction lines have been left as I feel they are just as much part of the painting than anything else on it. they are done in half so will fade over time. Im hoping whoever looks at it questions why the shapes are there and tries to figure it out, or at least think about where they would be places had it been up to them. The piece is also quite still and peaceful. There are no energetic lines that imply movement or aggression and I like to feel that the shapes would be content with their position. This will be packaged with extreme care and consideration, along with the corner stretchers.
