About The Artwork
I attended Mid Cheshire college of Art & Design and had a wonderful teacher, the legendary and eccentric David Moulson who inspired, freeing us from our inhibitions. As I later gravitated towards photography, I have recently returned to working with paint after being inspired by attending Liverpool tate Modern and the Walker art gallery, as well as viewing such incredible work here on Saatchi. I hope to produce many more paintings. I chose black and white ink and gouache because of my monochromatic photographic background working with different grades of paper with their subtle tones. I have let gravity become part of the process

I am an explorer of images, walking around locations with no plan or agenda. Some of my best images have been found by chance. Liverpool in particular has been the gift that keeps on giving with its rich layers revealed in its fascinating historic buildings and streets. I also collect sound recordings and video footage, building a library for possible use in making future short films and also compose music for use commercial media and for my own personal work.
