This “Trojan” series of paintings are expressions of the Ancient Trojan people who lived in Asia Minor and Europe. Troy was a city, both factual and legendary, located in North-West Anatolia, South-East of Dardanelles and beside mountain Ida. It is best known for being setting of the Trojan War, described in the Greek Epic Cycle (Ancient Greek epic poems that related the story of the Trojan War...) and especially in the Iliad which is one of the Homer’s two epic poems, Iliad and Odyssey. Anatolia is the cradle of the civilisations... the images of her colourful past is still hiding in her heart. Every stone, every piece of marble has a story to tell. This series of paintings convey the distant images from my native land. It is with the desire to bring back to life the emotions, the colours and the struggles described by Homer, that I decided to paint the Warriors of Troy The Trojan, displays their weapons and their strengths. But neither who hit Achille from his heel with an arrow nor Achille can hide his vulnerabilities... No frame required, ready to hang.
