About The Artwork
The “Tree Spirits” series is an ongoing project I started to develop in 2004 as an Artist in Resident in Austria. Back then, I decided it was time to take a closer look at nature- after painting big sweeping vistas and landscapes for years, I looked closer at the rocks and trees. The diversity of the Eucalyptus tree of Australia provide a neverending source of inspiration ever since, and one can find an endless configuration of colour and shape everywhere you go, be it out in the countryside or in the city and the suburbs.
