Three Waves Painting

Sides painted black This painting is titled “Three Waves”; at the beginning it was just about me chasing this idea of creating a piece with three types of metal leaf. But as I worked on it and as I see it more and more I’m understanding the deeper meaning it holds for me. I now am able to see that this painting symbolizes my understanding that life is cyclical; that it has stages or seasons. And that eventually you return to a season of calm, but you return wiser and stronger Traditionally in jewelry the three golds are used to symbolize love, friendship and fidelity. Here I’m using them to symbolize growth, calmness and trust. The core values under which I’m choosing to live my life now; what I’ve landed on after living with pain and fear for too long and understanding that a mindful life brings answers in its own.
