About The Artwork

I started this painting in 2022 and finished it in 2023. The characters' positions are the same as those of the The Three Graces sculpture (attributed to the Roman period and located in the Louvre Museum, in Paris), but with new physiognomies created from my imagination (without models). In the painting, I brought together the references of that sculpture with modern elements. And each element has a particular meaning, but the interpretations I leave to the observer, after all as Edward Hopper said: "If you could say it in words, there would be no reason to paint.". These meanings can be tributes and criticisms.

Academic and figurative art are his main interests. After approximately two years working as a self-taught, he started to attend ateliers and art schools, receiving influence from contemporary art, but never abandoning his interest for figurative art. Initiates partnerships with other artists, not only in the visual arts, but also in other areas as literature. Proceed with the studies based on the works and teachings of important contemporary artists who base their works on figurative art and who combine academicism with contemporary art. Over the years he has adopted his own language. The poetics of his works are based mainly on symbolism and introspection.
