Although my work varies according to subject, how i paint is in a response to the subject and the themes and approach thread throughout the paintings.Working on this subject there are under tones of Edward Hopper and Gauguin influence.Not a decisive concious choice when i approach the painting,the absorbed intrest in their work manifests but also there is a unique individual style.This painting like many of my paintings documents atmosphere and feeling of Barbados life.I dont think its necessary to know the Caribbean to enjoy this painting ,its light, colour, mystery and atmosphere make it an intresting narrative and a thing of great beauty.
