Marcel was born on March 14, 1969, in Romania. He was discovered by his family at the age of 3 when he first attempted to capture reality on paper by sketching various outdoor scenes in pencil. This early experience ignited his passion for art, leading him to engage in numerous artistic activities. With diverse artistic interests, he continued to explore his inner talents. Marcel attended the Popular Art school in his natal city, Arad, where he also started painting in oil at the age of 13. He participated in various national competitions in oil painting, watercolor, acrylic, and linocuts. Additionally, he attended cinematography courses for 3 years starting at the age of 16. A year later , he dedicated himself to wood sculpture for 5 years , earning a reputation for his undeniable talent. In an effort to introduce modernity to a country emerging from communism, Marcel started a furniture and upholstery production company alongside with his wife for 25 years. After a quarter of a century in the business world, he decided to leave Romania and travel in search of inspiration. He returned in 2018 to his first love, painting, with the intention of expressing his principles, ideas, and morals. Through his art, he seeks to remind people of the vital interconnectedness between humans and nature.
