About The Artwork
My new series of paintings that I started creating even before the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine. This is a story about Ukrainian culture and its indomitability. In the first work of this series, I depicted the symbol of the tree of life. The Tree of Life is a common archetype in many world mythologies, religious and philosophical traditions. In Ukrainian folk art, the image of the tree of life is common, combining three levels - upper, sky, middle, earth, and lower, the underworld and underground waters.
