About The Artwork
As an Artist, I am drawn to the painterly tradition, focusing more on the process of painting and where it takes me and my work. This process is not only limited to mixing, pushing and applying of the paint but the ‘bigger; whole practice of being ‘Plein air’ for my pre-sketches, drawings and most importantly being out amongst my chosen subject, living it, breathing it and experiencing it in all weather. I’m trying to perfect and portray the light and colours of the Australian Landscape. This is a work based on my early morning walks. Thick expressive oil paint.
